"Victory in Normandy", is a two-player wargame simulation covering the fighting in France from 7 June (D-Day+1) to 25 August 1944 (D-Day+80, the fall of Paris), using daily turns. The 17x22" map shows the area from Brest to Paris, and from Cherbourg to the Loire River.
The main units of maneuver are divisions, along with corps artillery and support units. Most of the 128 units in the counter mix are two-sided for step reduction.
The basic rules require only 7 pages and provide a good introduction to the hobby for newcomers. The game can be played in an evening. It is tense, fun for old hands and new comers alike, historically accurate, and easy to play. The action ranges from hammer-and-tongs slugfests to sweeping breakouts and pincers.
