How to play Wingspan

To start the game, each player is given 1 player board, 8 action cubes, 1 food of each type, 5 bird cards and 2 bonus cards. Next, for each bird card you keep, you need to return the same number of food to the supply. Then, choose to keep 1 of 2 bonus cards.

The game will last for four rounds, each round consists of many turns. At each turn, the player can perform one of the following 4 actions:

1. Play a bird card from the hand.
2. Gain food from the bird feeder and activate skills of Forest birds.
3. Lay eggs and activate skills of Grassland birds.
4. Draw additional bird cards and activate the skills of Wetland birds.

The actions are all linked together quite closely, so players need to coordinate them properly to earn the most points possible. At the end of each round, players score bonus points for completing the round’s objective. After round 4 ends, the player with the most points will become the winner.
