People-Person! is a game about life. You've got a life, don't you? Then, you'll like this game!
Gameplay is based upon 50% strategy and 50% luck of the cards.
The PEOPLE cards represent your friends and family.
The EVENTS cards represent the good, bad and sometimes ugly things that can (and probably will) happen to you in your lifetime.
Players score points by declaring a "BEST" FRIEND during their turn (with their PEOPLE cards), playing GAIN cards on themselves during their turn, and trumping LOSE cards with their friends when not their turn. Trumping can be done with anywhere between 1-5 friends, so long as each friend is essential to the trump. Scoring is based upon the number of friends used in the trump. (Example, 1-friend trump, gain attributes of 1 friend. 3-friend trump, gain attributes of all 3 friends MINUS the attributes of the LOSE card. 5-friend trump, automatically win the game, but is very rare.)
Players also have a FAMILY in which they score points at the beginning of the game and then periodically, depending on the number of FAMILY REUNION cards (a type of GAIN card) played. (the narrative of this game perfectly captures the absurdities and truths of life)
BONUS cards (a type of EVENTS card) help shake-up, speed-up and frustrate gameplay.
The first person to score 10 points in all 7 attributes:
AUTHENTICITY, CHARISMA, COMFORT, CONFIDENCE, KNOWLEDGE, RESPECT and SECURITY becomes the ultimate People-Person! and wins the game.
Whether manipulative or wholesome, strategic or just-plain-lucky, People-Person! perfectly captures the relationships that bind us all!
