More generally, GAMA notes that 26 exhibitors have cancelled — including distributors, suppliers, and publishers who I hadn't yet heard from about appearing on the demo schedule, such as Upper Deck and Osprey Games — for an 11% cancellation rate. The show has found eight exhibitors willing to take up some of the space that would otherwise be empty; other exhibitors have expanded their existing space.
I've updated BGG's GAMA Expo 2020 livestream schedule to account for these changes and a few others, such as Czech Games Edition's decision not to show a forthcoming deck-building release as it wasn't yet ready for a public outing. I suspect that I'll receive or discover more cancellations once I arrive in Reno on Tuesday, March 10 ahead of the start of our broadcast.
I'll note that I can appreciate the decision by these companies not to show at GAMA Expo. A representative of one such company noted that if the show had taken place a week earlier, no one would have thought twice about coming (which mostly seemed to be the case at NY Toy Fair 2020, which took place two weeks ago), while if the show took place a week later, the organizers probably would have cancelled the whole thing themselves. We're in an interesting position right now, with "interesting" being interpretable in all types of ways, and we'll see what happens in the days and weeks ahead.
For those curious as to the current status of BGG.Spring, I direct you to this post by convention co-organizer Jeff Anderson.
