Spiel 2012: Designers and Publishers in the BGG Booth III

Let's continue with the game demonstrations recorded at the BGG stand at Spiel 2012, kicking off with what's surely one of the most anticipated games due out before the end of 2012 – Mage Knight Board Game: The Lost Legion from designer Vlaada Chvátiland publisher WizKids. Paul Grogan gives a meaty overview of all that's included in this expansion, with WizKids' Scott D'Agostino adding info as well.

Also previewed by WizKids was The Lord of the Rings Dice Building Game, which builds on Mike Elliott and Eric M. Lang's Quarriors! to integrate the Middle-earth setting and an interesting take on who you're fighting against.

And yet another title from WizKids, this time Star Trek: Fleet Captains - Romulan Empire, an expansion for Star Trek: Fleet Captains that adds, duh, Romulans to the game in addition to including rules for games with three players.

More from WizKids? Yes, more – in this case Paolo Mori's Batman: Gotham City Strategy Game, which has players in the role of villains competing to be the best among the baddest.

Finally from WizKids is The Lord of the Rings: The Puzzle Building Game by designer Mike Elliott, which is a competitive jigsaw game with pieces that fit in multiple locations and a scoring system that rewards grouping of pieces from the same group – a curious mix of elements, wrapped (in this case) with trappings of Middle-earth.

And to get in one game from a different publisher, here's an overview of Bruno Cathala and Serge Laget's Shadows over Camelot: The Card Game as presented by Days of Wonder's Adrien Martinot and Franck Lefebvre.
