More specifically, the Nürnberg 2012 Preview – still far from complete, yet already halfway down a second page – is now open for your browsing pleasure.
Unlike Spiel, Nürnberg is a trade convention, which means (1) the public is not allowed in the halls, (2) no games are available for sale as publishers are simply showing retailers what they plan to release in the coming months, and (3) most of the publishers who show up are big wheels in the game industry and based in Germany, so you won't see one-off self-published titles from a debut publisher in Chad on a Nürnberg Preview. Publishers like that just don't have the standing to invest in a booth at the convention, so if you're looking for oddball titles to bedazzle and flabbergast the gamers in your life, you'll have to look elsewhere.
Expect many more titles to be added to this Preview in the weeks to come, and while it won't ever reach the lengths of the Spiel Preview, it should max out longer than the 2011 version - mostly due to the change in formatting here at BGG HQ, with me being able to import game descriptions directly into the Preview. The only drawback, of course, is that I have to create those game listings in the first place! #firstworldproblems
