New Game Round-up: Moongha Invaders Return, Pumpkins Ride Trains & Spiel 2012 Updates
Board Game: Moongha Invaders: Mad Scientists and Atomic Monsters Attack the Earth!
• Crash! That's the sound of the price for the first edition of Moongha Invaders: Mad Scientists and Atomic Monsters Attack the Earth falling to the floor as designer Martin Wallace has announced that he plans to release a new edition of the game, ideally by Q3 2013, through his own Treefrog Games. The game will include new artwork by Tim Huesken, as can be seen on the cover at right. Wallace plans to launch a Kickstarter project for the game in mid-October 2012, shortly before the opening of Spiel 2012. Says Wallace, "The objective is to raise enough money to allow the game to be produced with plastic figures."

What's more, Wallace says that he's been working on a tactical, two-player version of the game – "five heroes versus eight monsters in a fight to the death in Manhattan" – with that game being a bonus available only to those who order the game via Kickstarter.

And if you're one of those heading to Spiel 2012, look for the game in the Treefrog Games booth . "I'm planning to have prototypes of both the original game and the two-player version at Essen for folks to try," says Wallace.

• Speaking of Spiel 2012, the hall plans and exhibitor lists have been posted (PDF) by convention organizer Friedhelm Merz Verlag. Have at it!

Not that I'm short of material to add to the Spiel 2012 Preview, mind you. Lots of stuff still in the in-box calling out for attention, and more is coming in each day. Admittedly I've been short-shrifting the news section a bit in order to focus on preparations for Spiel. I've added tons of new titles to the Preview without posting all of them in a new game round-up or something similar. Apologies for the lightness of the posts here, but if you want to keep track of all the new stuff that is appearing from yours truly, check out the Preview, now at 435 listings and still rising. So much more to add over the next two weeks...

Board Game: Ticket to Ride
Days of Wonder has announced a "limited edition Train & Station Set" called Halloween Freighter that consists of 45 pumpkin-bearing freighter cars and three orange stations. This set, due out worldwide the week of Halloween and retailing for $12/€10, can replace any set of trains in any Ticket to Ride game. DoW's Mark Kaufman says that if all goes well with the shipping gods, Halloween Freighter will be available at Spiel 2012 in mid-October.
