New Game Round-up: Kremlin Reborn, Storytelling with Cthulhu & Equipment for Memoir '44?
Board Game: Memoir '44
• Rumor alert: BGG user BradyLS has posted the following in the Memoir '44 forums:

My FLGS received this notice from their distributor and asked if I wanted to pre-order the upcoming Memoir:'44 "Equipment Pack."

Quote:
The Memoir '44 Equipment Pack is a major expansion to the Memoir '44 game system and fills a game box as big as the original board game. 186 plastic figures in total, the Equipment Pack includes: 108 figures from 4 WWII nations, including French Infantry, Finnish Ski Troops, Italian Artillery and Polish Cavalry; 24 new pieces of Artillery (Flak-88’s, "Long Tom" Big Guns, M7 Priests and "Screaming Meemies" Nebelwerfers); new Beach Landing equipment that includes 6 amazing Hobart's Funnies, complete with accessories; 6 Snipers; and scores of new Armor, Vehicle and Special Weapon Assets, including some Elefant Tank Destroyers, Kübelwagen Command cars, and M2 Mortars and Machine Guns.

These figures can be deployed over many of the existing Memoir ‘44 scenarios and are also heavily featured in the 10 Standard, 2 Breakthrough and 4 Overlord new scenarios that come in the Equipment Pack. A 32 page Rules booklet and 25 Summary cards complement this pack. This expansion requires at least one copy of the Memoir ‘44 base game. Many of its expansions are required to enjoy most of the included scenarios. We highly recommend that, for visual accuracy, players at minimum own the Terrain Pack and the Winter/Desert board.
My questions about this have stormed the beaches at Days of Wonder, and I'll let you know once I hear something one way or another.

Board Game: Kremlin
• In the Kremlin forum on BGG, Jim Dietz from Jolly Roger Games has noted that "Fata Morgana has agreed to allow Jolly Roger Games to create a new, English-language version of Kremlin. Art will be handled by Clay Gardner (artist for The Manhattan Project)." Deitz dropped more details about the upcoming JRG version in the same thread:

It will still be 'fiddly' because of the need to adjust ages, etc--but the rules will be streamlined and some terms dropped--like the old "SP" will just become "age", etc.

The game will (99% likely) come with three sets of politicians AND rules.

Fictional politicians: This will be playable with the Fata Morgana rules PRIMARILY.

1920s: This will be the vicious purge era--some different politicians and cards.

Modern: This will have people from Andropov or Gromyko up to Putin and Medvedev. It will add something called "Going into Exile"--though in exile, you need to be careful of Plutonium 210.

Ideally--the art will be bright--the artist's conception is great...it will most likely be done a la 1930s/1940s Soviet Propaganda.
Board Game Publisher: Czech Games Edition
• On Opinionated Gamers, Tom Rosen (with an assist from Mark Jackson) goes into great detail about four games coming from Czech Games Edition, three of them (Mayan Ages, Goblins Inc., Dungeon Lords: The New Paladins) likely to come out in time for Spiel 2012 in October, with Steamferno in the works for 2013.

• In a BGG thread about the reprint of Tales of the Arabian Nights being available once again, Filosofia head honcho Sophie Gravel teased that that Z-Man Games' Zev Shlasinger is "working on a new Tales......of Chtulu. Hoping to see that out next year."

Board Game: Targi
• In a separate post, Gravel says that a French-language edition of 2012 Kennerspiel des Jahres nominee Targi is in the works and "awaiting the production schedule" – which is publisher speak for "waiting to see whether we X copies or 3X copies bearing the Kennerspiel logo".

• In October 2012, WizKids will release Star Trek: Fleet Captains - Romulan Empire, an expansion for Star Trek: Fleet Captains that adds the Romulan empire to the game, along with card decks to support them. Players can also engage in three-player games with the Federation vs. the Klingons vs. the Romulans.

• In Ogre Kickstarter update #42, designer/publisher Steve Jackson writes: "It appears that the total print run will be more than 10,000. So, thanks to your support, we'll be printing more than three times as many as we originally planned to. That includes over 5,500 directly through Kickstarter, and distributor orders of more than 150% of the best pre-Kickstarter estimates."
