Are the games identical? Designer sibling Gary Sibthorpe has noted on BGG that "[t]here's new artwork and a new board, and some of the cube names are different, but the rules are virtually unchanged as far as I understand". Gamewright's Nora Meiners offered this clarification: "Cube Quest is a new version of KingBrick; we have licensed it from the inventors and made some adaptations." (If it becomes clear that the games are the same or nearly so, we can merge the game pages, but until then I'll keep them separate as it's far easier to merge than split.)
• U.S. publisher Upper Deck Entertainment has released a few details of Devin Low's Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game - Expansion 1, which GTS Distribution lists in its catalog with a June 25, 2013 release date. (HT: Joel Eddy) Note that this is not the final name for the expansion, and some details below might differ from what's actually in the set. For now, here's what is known about the expansion:
This expansion also includes a new game mechanism for Bystanders, who in the base game just stood around waiting to be kidnapped or rescued with no autonomy of their own.
Quest cards are available in the Wilds for you to send your Creatures to capture the all-new LARGER Quest dice that wield unimaginable power. (No, seriously, we have no idea what these things do.) Quarriors! Quartifacts includes five new Creatures and two new Spells, in addition to a new Basic card (the Squire), twelve Quest cards, and six Quest dice.
• In a late January 2013 post, I noted that the German branch of Asmodee was distributing a new version of Laurent Escoffier and David Franck's PIX under the name Pixelstücke. Now Sébastien Pauchon – one of the fellows behind Swiss publisher GameWorks SàRL, the publisher of PIX – has contacted me to confirm that the new edition of PIX will be released in French, English and Japanese, in addition to German. The game is expected out in May 2013, and to accommodate the various languages while being packaged as efficiently as possible, the game apparently comes with a language-specific rules overlay that will be shrinkwrapped on the box bottom, with the box itself showing 36 miniature pix that make up a game all on their own.
