Board Game: Warhammer 40,000 Dice Masters: Battle for Ultramar Campaign Box
• In mid-October 2017, WizKids and Games Workshop announced a multi-year partnership to "extend the Warhammer 40,000 universe IP across multiple categories, including Dice Building Games, board games and more!" — which means it's not at all surprising to discover that in 2018 WizKids plans to release Warhammer 40,000 Dice Masters.

This game will be compatible with all other Dice Masters titles from designers Mike Elliott and Eric M. Lang, with the initial launch in July 2018 consisting of the Battle for Ultramar Campaign Box, a standalone set that contains the Ultramarines and Deathguard factions; the Space Wolves – Sons of Russ Team Pack; and the Orks – WAAAGH! Team Pack.

• Months ago, I sent myself a note about Good Little Games, a UK-based publisher of sorts that releases free print-and-play games on a regular basis. Many p&p games are available from a wide variety of sources, but since the past six games have been from Elysium designers Brett J. Gilbert and Matthew Dunstan, I thought it worth a mention of Good Little Hunters, Good Little Gardens, Good Little Tricks, etc. — all of which you can download from the Good Little Games website.

Board Game: Wallet
Wallet is a party game from Marie and Wilfried Fort and Russian publisher Lifestyle Boardgames that is played with an actual wallet, a prop that makes perfect sense once you read the game description:

Quote:
A birthday party hosted by the mafia boss was roaring fun until the police knocked at the door. While getting away on his private helicopter, he dropped his precious wallet. Now what will you all do with it?

In Wallet, players are the guests rummaging through the wallet looking for an ID (that'll make them seem innocent in the eyes of the law) and some cash (you can't take too much — it will look suspicious!). During your turn, you choose one action: take a card from the wallet, hide a card in the wallet, flip a timer card (bringing the round closer to its end), or buy an ID card. You may also use your special cards to spoil your opponent's play. Strategy, bluff, unexpected events... You need to have a perfect hand as fast as you can — try to be both innocent and rich by the end of the round!

Will you be found guilty or manage to escape the hand of justice with the most cash?
Cryptozoic Entertainment has announced that it will release Wallet in the U.S. in June 2018.

Board Game Publisher: Feuerland Spiele
• In March 2018, German publisher Feuerland Spiele plans to release Das tiefe Land, a 2-4 design by newcomers Claudia and Ralf Partenheimer that was labeled "Low Lands" on the rules sheet accompanying the prototype that was being demoed at SPIEL '17. Here's a short overview of the game, along with a pic I snapped:

Quote:
The low land, located at the coast of the Northern Sea, is a rough land, always threatened by flood surges. The inhabitants struggle with the decision to send their farmers away to build new dikes to protect the land, or to breed sheep and expand their farms? Without dikes, they might lose what they own, but without sheep they possess nothing in the first place.

In Das tiefe Land, you breed sheep and build dikes to protect their lands from flooding. Will you find the balance between economical sheep breeding and protecting your land from flooding? Are you prepared to withstand the storm surge?
