G.I. Joe, Transformers, and My Little Pony for The Last of Us

G.I. Joe, Transformers, and My Little Pony for The Last of Us
Board Game Publisher: CMON Global Limited
• Following the release of Bloodborne: The Card Game in 2016 and God of War: The Card Game in 2019, CMON Limited has announced a new title resulting from its partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment — The Last of Us: The Board Game, which will be "set in the world of Naughty Dog's critically acclaimed and best-selling video game series, The Last of Us", according to CMON. Here's more from the press release announcing this title, which has no details known other than its name at this time:
Quote:
As long-time fans of the series, we recognize the special place these games hold in the hearts and minds of its many fans. The heart-stopping suspense of suddenly hearing an unseen clicker behind you; the intensity of a firefight as you desperately try to tell friend from foe; the heartbreak of being double crossed and seeing all your plans fall apart; the exhilaration of finding a safe place to rest and surviving just one more day even though all the odds were against you. The Last of Us is a series that provides a deep, emotional experience combined with endless thrills and excitement.

Board Game: The Last of Us: The Board Game

"Remembering the impact The Last of Us had on me when I first experienced it years ago, and then being completely stunned by The Last of Us Part II, I knew this was a narrative experience we wanted to bring to the board gaming table," says Geoff Skinner, VP of Entertainment and Head of Licensing at CMON. "We are honored to have the chance to translate a modern classic of the video game industry into a unique and compelling board game experience. The Last of Us is a series that many of us at CMON have followed from its inception and we are eager to adapt the stirring character-driven player experience to tabletop, letting fans explore the world and story in a entirely new way."
Board Game: Power Rangers: Heroes of the Grid
• U.S. publisher Renegade Game Studios Kickstarted Power Rangers: Heroes of the Grid in 2018 (link) to the tune of $750,000 in support, with eleven expansions for that game having been released to date and with even more items — Legendary Rangers: Forever Rangers Pack, Villain Pack #3: Legacy Of Evil, Squatt & Baboo Character Pack, and a painted Megazord figure — being available for preordering through this website starting on October 13, 2020.

On top of that, Renegade has a "5th Edition compatible" Power Rangers Role Playing Game in the works, as well as Power Rangers: Deck-Building Game, the latter of which will be available for demo during both Renegade Con (October 9-11, 2020) and Morphin Meet (October 23-25, 2020) ahead of a Q2 2021 release.

Aside from all of that, Renegade has expanded its partnership with Hasbro — which oversees the Power Rangers brand in the U.S., although that's probably not exactly the right terminology — and has announced that it will create role-playing and deck-building games based on "the G.I. Joe, Transformers, and My Little Pony brands", with these items first hitting retail in 2021.

An excerpt from the press release linked to above:
Quote:
"Hasbro has brought so much joy to fans through these worlds filled with rich narratives and iconic characters. We are excited to expand our relationship with Hasbro to help bring these stories to hobby tabletops in a new way," explains Scott Gaeta, President and Publisher at Renegade Game Studios.

"We're thrilled to expand our relationship with Renegade Game Studios to include more fan favorite brands from our portfolio," said Casey Collins, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global Consumer Products at Hasbro. "The tabletop and roleplaying games Renegade Game Studios innovated for the Power Rangers franchise have proved to authentically connect with both gamers and the Ranger Nation and we are confident that G.I. Joe, Transformers and My Little Pony fans will love the exciting games coming soon."
