Game Overview: Ricochet Robots, or You Can't Keep a Good Robot Down
Board Game: Ricochet Robots
I've played Alex Randolph's Ricochet Robot a number of times over the years, and it's a game experience like no other, one that I've come to call "The Game of Staring" because that approximates how people play. For three-quarters of the game time, you simply stare at the board and think, puzzling and puzzling 'till your puzzler is sore, 'till you think of something you hadn't before.

Some people prefer games that are simulations of a real life situation, and Ricochet Robot fits that description on a broader, more abstract scale than any other game as it simulates the concept of people pondering how to solve a problem, something that occurs millions of times every day in every location on Earth. Okay, that description might be too broad for most of you (and general enough to apply to any number of other games), but Ricochet Robot is boiled down to nothing other than problem-solving without distracting elements. If you can suggest other titles that fit the bill, I'd like to hear them — and, most likely, play them!
