• German publisher KOSMOS has unveiled seven of its late 2015 releases, and while a Klaus Teuber title is (as you might expect) included in that group, it's neither a Catan title nor a new version of an older game. Here's a translated overview of Tumult Royal, co-designed with his son Benjamin Teuber:

Quote:
Agitation is high across the country as the king has built one monument after another while starving the people — but the farmers have decided they can't take it any longer, and they're now leading an uprising.

In Tumult Royal, players take on the role of these greedy nobles and try to build as many monuments as possible. These efforts cost bread, marble and tools, though, items that must be stolen from the people. Acting simultaneously, players have only a few seconds in each round to reveal tiles, then decide whether they want to keep them or hide them — and they must take care for if they leave too little to the common people, a riot will ensue and the greedy nobles will be punished!
I was sure that I knew what was coming after that first paragraph, but no, you're not the farmers in revolt; you're among the nobles putting the screws to those farmers. Unexpected! Tumult Royal carries a €30 MSRP and is due out September 2015.

• Other titles coming from KOSMOS include the two-player only Die Legenden von Andor: Chada & Thorn from Gerhard Hecht, with Michael Menzel providing artwork for this spin-off Andor title. A short description of this Sept. 2015 release:

Quote:
To Andor! Chada the archeress and Thorn the fighter travel from the northern end of Silberland to the southern coast of the island. The dwarfs there will help them cross back to Andor. On their voyage, thrilling adventures and new challenges await them. They will reach safe harbor only if they stick together, yet a sinister enemy follows their steps.

Die Legenden von Andor: Chada & Thorn, a two-player cooperative card game set in the world of Andor, tells the story of two heroes returning from the north (the setting for Die Legenden von Andor: Die Reise in den Norden). The players may choose one of four ready-to-play adventures, and the placement of the tiles allows them to experience new routes and different challenges.

Rumms, due Sept. 2015, is a German version of Gary Sibthorpe's Cube Quest, while Top & Flop (Oct. 2015) is the German KOSMOS take on Wits & Wagers. Sandra Dochtermann and Ralph Querfurth's dice game Star Wars: Angriff der Rebellen returns in a new edition in Sept. 2015, now themed with the characters and vehicles from the animated television series Star Wars: Rebels.

Board Game Publisher: KOSMOS
Steam Time is a Rüdiger Dorn title that KOSMOS labels a "journey of a special kind" for those who love complex games. A teaser of this Sept. 2015 release:

Quote:
It's the year 1899, and strange phenomena is being observed in places like Stonehenge and the pyramids of Egypt. Time goes crazy, and newly discovered crystals have exhibited strange properties that allow for the creation of fantastic apparatuses.

Players in Steam Time take off in a race for lost knowledge, past culture, and hidden gems, traveling in huge dirigibles from place to place and through time. Only those who use their crystals wisely will stay one step ahead of the competition.
• Finally — for now as I'm sure that KOSMOS will reveal more new releases prior to Spiel 2015 — comes yet another Star Wars tie-in, something that we'll be seeing plenty of both before and after Star Wars: The Force Awakens lays claim to every movie screen in existence come Dec. 18, 2015. Ladies and gentlemen, I present Grzegorz Rejchtman's Ubongo: Star Wars: Das Erwachen der Macht:

Quote:
Ubongo: Star Wars: Das Erwachen der Macht merges the best-selling Ubongo game with numerous motifs from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, with the Jedi players racing against time to demonstrate their skill in covering ground with the predetermined tiles, no matter the light or dark side is in play. Whoever succeeds in time moves their spaceship ahead in the galaxy, with the fastest players naturally moving farther. After seven rounds, whoever has explored the galaxy the most wins.
