Break Out the Peanuts for Blaseball: The Card Game, and Cast a Spell with Similo

Break Out the Peanuts for Blaseball: The Card Game, and Cast a Spell with Similo
Board Game Publisher: Wayfinder Games
• Are you familiar with Blaseball? If not, here's a description of this "baseball simulation horror game" courtesy of Wikipedia:
Quote:
Blaseball centers on an absurdist simulation of baseball, with fictional teams including the Atlantis Georgias, the Philly Pies, and the Baltimore Crabs, featuring random events such as the "incineration" of players by "rogue umpires". Each player has a name and a star rating, which is used to determine their stats. After their first log-in, users choose a favorite team and are given some coins. The game allows users to use these coins to bet on the outcomes of the simulated games. Fans can also "idol" players and earn coins based on their performance.

Each season lasts a week, and users are able to follow what happens in real time. The matches are organized every day on the hour, while the post-season happens in two parts with wild card matches and quarterfinals happening on Friday and semifinals and finals happening on Saturday. Users are able to use their coins to vote on events and rule changes that will happen after each season on Sunday.
Board Game: Blaseball: The Card Game
Publisher Wayfinder Games has signed a licensing deal with Blaseball developer The Game Band for the release of Blaseball: The Card Game from Wayfinder's own Michael Fox and Rain Watt, with crowdfunding for this title to take place in Q2 2022. Here's background on the game:
Quote:
The Sun 2 sits high in the sky as the birds in the outfield lazily pick at discarded peanut shells. As the teams take to the field, the fans erupt, knowing that they're about to witness the best of the best. On one side, the Auric All-Stars — the pinnacle of Blaseball talent. On the other, the Canis Underdogs — the scrappiest fighters that the game has to offer.

One final match will decide the outright winners. Will you be the one to coach your side to a tremendous victory?

Blaseball: The Card Game is a two-player, competitive card game in which you each control a Blaseball team, with the two of you playing out the top and bottom of the ninth inning.
Not much to go on there, but if you want to know more about the original Blaseball, I recommend this introduction from Quinns at People Make Games:

Board Game: Similo
• In a move I would describe as non-surprising, Italian publisher Horrible Guild has announced the first licensed version in its Similo game line — Similo: Harry Potter, with this title being released in a number of languages. (As I noted in my August 2019 review of Similo: Fables and Similo: History: "You can imagine lots of other Similo sets joining this line-up in future years, giving you many more mash-ups to ponder...")

Horrible Guild notes that the Similo game line from designers Martino Chiacchiera, Hjalmar Hach, and Pierluca Zizzi has sold more than a half-million copies to date. This edition can be combined with other Similo titles, with one set of cards being used as clues to get players to identify the right card from the second set.
