Voice suspicions, read hidden verdicts, and place deduction tokens to uncover the truth behind.
Lady Alice is a deduction game built around shared uncertainty, hidden information, and careful reading of subtle signals. Each player begins the game knowing one crucial piece of the mystery — the suspect, location, time, or stolen object — but no one ever knows the full truth alone.
On a turn, a suspicion is declared out loud, combining one option from each category into a single statement. All players then secretly respond using verdict cards, indicating whether they possess evidence related to any of the named elements. These responses are collected, shuffled, and revealed anonymously, ensuring that information is gained without ever exposing its source.
Rather than learning what is correct, players only learn how much of a suspicion is correct. From there, a deduction round unfolds. Players may quietly place deduction tokens on specific clues, pass to wait for better information, or attempt a full accusation. Tokens interact in a layered way: placing one may reveal others, shifting the shared deduction space and forcing players to reassess previous assumptions.
Making an accusation is a decisive moment. If every part of the accusation is confirmed, the case is solved — but solving it does not automatically secure victory. Tokens placed on incorrect clues are removed, and players who made failed accusations lose all of their tokens, making reckless guesses costly.
At the end of the game, victory is determined by points earned from deduction tokens. Players score based on the values of their remaining tokens, with bonuses for correctly covering multiple pieces of evidence and for contributing to successful suspicions or accusations. The winner is the player who combined accurate deduction, careful timing, and calculated risk to score the most points.
