Kushi Express (2019)

In Kushi Express, players run competing street-side kushi stalls, racing to prepare customer orders as quickly and accurately as possible. Each round begins when an Order Card is revealed, showing a specific skewer made of ingredients and optional toppings.

All players act simultaneously, grabbing ingredient cubes, topping strips, and a skewer stick to assemble the exact order shown. As soon as a player believes their skewer is correct, they slam it onto the shared plate and announce “Bon appétit!”, immediately triggering a check.

If the skewer is incorrect, that player is penalized and sits out for the remainder of the round, while others continue racing. If the order is correct, the player claims the Order Card as points — but their skewer remains on the plate, creating a physical handicap that slows them down in the next round.

Some orders are simple and quick to prepare, while others are more complex, combining multiple ingredients and toppings for higher rewards.

Special Touting Cards can suddenly appear, forcing all players to react instantly. The fastest to shout “Kushi!” gains an immediate advantage, stealing an Order Card from an opponent or the deck, adding an extra layer of chaos and reflex-based interaction.

The game ends immediately when the Shop Closing Card is revealed from the draw pile. Players then total the victory points shown on all Order Cards they collected.

The player with the highest total score wins the game. In case of a tie, all Order Cards are reshuffled and a single sudden-death round is played to determine the winner.
