Clank! Legacy: Acquisitions Incorporated extends the deck-building fun of Clank! with legacy-style gameplay! Found your own franchise of the legendary adventuring company Acquisitions Incorporated, and shepherd your fledgling treasure-hunters to immortal corporate glory over the course of multiple games. Your game board, your deck, and your world change as you play to create a unique campaign tailored to your adventuring party. Be cunning, be bold, and most importantly be ready…
Clank! Legacy is still a strategic card-building game, like the original. Players will form a game strategy around their deck of cards, which will constantly change throughout the game.
The Legacy aspect gives the game a campaign divided into a series of scenarios, with quests, meaningful choices, and progression. Legacy games require you to permanently alter the components of the game by placing stickers, drawing on them with a marker, or even destroying the components.

How to Play Clank! Legacy – Acquisitions Incorporated
There’s a lot that goes on during the campaign of Clank!: Legacy, but in terms of mechanics and rules, it’s not all that hard to learn.
The goals are simple — retrieve the Artifact token, survive, and get the highest score among the adventurers. However, the Legacy aspect makes it a lot more interesting, as you can work together with other players, but also look out for your own interests.
Taking Turns
Clank!: Legacy is still a deck-building game at its core which is clear in how the turns work. When it is your turn, you’ll play all the cards from your hand on the board, in any order you choose.
Playing the cards gives you the resources required to take actions, and you can play cards and take actions in any order as long as you have enough resources. Cards may also generate gold, Clank! Actions and initiate card draw.
There are six actions you can take during the game.
Draw a card
Combat
Move
Buy from the market
Hire a coach
Take an artifact
The actions are self-explanatory — if you meet the requirements or have the resources, you may take the action to gain a benefit from it.
The Game Map & Dragon Attack
As you move around the game board, you’ll come across symbols that have varying effects on the game. For example, the forest spaces will exhaust the character and prevent them from moving further, while the rewards spaces give you something once you enter them.
The HQ is also a point of interest — it represents the starting location for every game and the place to bring the artifact to and complete the mission. Once the players have executed all their actions, it’s time to check contracts, draw a new set of cards, and check for the dragon attack.
The dragon attack depends on the cards pulled to the adventure row. Should a card depicting a dragon attack symbol appear, the dragon will target all party members.
The dragon attack uses the Clank! area cubes to determine the damage dealt to the players. Black cubes are disregarded, but the colored cubes affect the matching player. The more Clank! you make, the greater the odds that the dragon will damage you. If your health meter is ever completely filled, your character will be knocked out!
Campaign Progression & How to End Clank! Legacy
There are two individual progression tracks in Clank!: Legacy — the associate status and personal goals.
The associate status is increased by earning the Checkmarks of Grudging Approval through contract completion among other methods. Personal goals are tasks unique to every player. The more you complete, the more points you’ll score on the track.
Once the mission ends, each player counts their score by summing up the value of their artifact, gold, tokens, and cards among others. The player with the most points is declared the Most Valuable Employee for that game.
At the end of the campaign, you’ll add up the mission scores along with associate and personal goal points to determine the winner.

Clank! Legacy – Acquisitions Incorporated Review
"Missions last 2-3 hours which is the perfect length for a single sitting, and it’s not the type of game where you’ll forget the rules between sessions and have a hard time continuing the game. With all the components sorted beforehand, the next setup is relatively quick and easy.
The Legacy-style progression works well with the comical narrative of the game. The story elements can easily be skipped, but I’ve found them to be quite entertaining and valuable for the whole experience."

"Clank! Legacy has hooked me; it was easily my most-played game over the Christmas holiday. If you like the push-your-luck deckbuilding style that Clank! has to offer, Legacy will be in your wheelhouse. Personally, I’m really enjoying it but I would not have been able to spring for it at the full MSRP. However, I love that you can play it after the story is done, and hope that more legacy titles follow suit (like Machi Koro Legacy). If you have the means, especially on a sale price, I would highly recommend Clank! Legacy."

"The rulebook was generally clear and we didn’t need to look up much online, although we did have a few questions about some of the language on the cards that we didn’t feel the rulebook addressed (and we also couldn’t find a clear answer online, so it might just have been a brain block unique to us).
Every aspect of Clank! Legacy: AI has been well planned and executed by Clautice and Dennen. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed playing this edition with my family and I’m hoping they’ve got additional legacy campaign expansions in the works for this IP as I can’t wait to see what they come up with next. Solid storytelling, from start to finish."
