Botts and Balls can be most easily described as Ricochet Robot Soccer. Players are given a limited number of moves each turn with which to score goals, which range in value from one to four points depending upon which type of ball is scored and whether or not a player scores in their own goal. Other players are kept involved via the "help" rule, which allows the current player to accept advice from another player at no cost, giving a point to the player whose advice was accepted.
Botts and Balls was released in a very limited, handmade edition in 2004. Ten more copies were made available at the Gathering of Friends in 2008. Another 10 copies were sold at the Gathering of Friends in 2009 to those that expressed interest the previous year.
