The Ancient Mediterranean is a euro/strategy game for 2 to 5 players. In this game each player controls one of the 5 ancient cultures that settled around the Mediterranean sea: Romans, Greeks, Persians, Egyptians and Carthaginians.

Each turn in the game represents a period roughly around 30 years, and it covers the rise (and fall) of the reign of one king. Every ruler will usually be specialized in one of the 5 aspects of the game and will improve it's nation in one of those 5 areas: military, science, seafaring, city building and nation expansion.

Every turn, as an action, each player will play one set of cards from his hand, but all cards played must be of the same type. The more cards used - stronger the action. There are 5 types of actions in the game: Expansion/migration, Military action, Ship building, City building, Science and advancement.

At the end of each round, the player will draw an amount of cards equal to the number of resources his nation controls, but (out of those cards) he will get to keep only a number of cards equal to the number of UNIQUE resources he has.

At the end of the game, the player with the most victory points wins.
