WizKids Games Teases Mage Knight: Resurrection, Injustice, Trains and Stations & Hello Kitty
Board Game Publisher: WizKids (I)
• U.S. publisher WizKids Games, which is owned by National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA), has announced a number of new games and licensing deals since the start of February 2013.

To start with, NECA has signed a licensing agreement with Sanrio, Inc. "to produce games, collectibles, toys and novelty items featuring Hello Kitty and other Sanrio characters". The press release announcing the deal adds a bit more detail about the games, mentioning "various tabletop games, plus a HeroClix miniature gaming collection from NECA's games subsidiary WizKids", with the line being launched in North America in Q3 2013. Hello Kitty HeroClix! Think of the crossover possibilities, which leads us into this next item...

Board Game: Mage Knight: Resurrection
• In August 2013, WizKids Games will release Mage Knight: Resurrection, with the game literally being a resurrection of the Mage Knight CMG from 2000. Here's an overview of the release:

Quote:
Mage Knight: Resurrection is a fantasy miniatures line utilizing the Combat Dial System game platform that the original Mage Knight game pioneered. Each of the 25 miniatures in the line will incorporate SwitchClix technology, and include two dials: one designed for the MAGE KNIGHT 2.0 rules, and a second HeroClix P.A.C.-compatible dial.

Mage Knight: Resurrection will be sold in both full starter sets and collectible booster packs.
• In a direction perpendicular to both Hello Kitty and Mage Knight: Resurrection, WizKids plans to debut Trains and Stations from designer Eric M. Lang at Spiel 2013, with the game hitting the U.S. market on October 30, 2013. Here's a short description from the publisher:

Quote:
It is the height of the Steam Age and the whistle of the Iron Horse harkens the boom of small towns across the country into major hubs of transportation and economic growth.

In Trains and Stations, a new take on train games, players must make deliveries, develop buildings, and profit from their decisions while working with and against other players. Will you focus on establishing mining operations in an attempt to gain a monopoly on coal, silver and gold? Or perhaps you will focus on laying tracks across the landscape and helping other players move their goods – taking your cut, of course. Every game will evolve differently with unique twists and turns as you control the movement of goods across the game map!
The playing time ranges from 30 to 60 minutes, so this design falls into the "family Euro" end of the game design pool. With luck (and a bit of prodding), perhaps Lang will provide more details on the game play in the months ahead.

• Finally, in Q3/Q4 2014 2013 (see below) WizKids Games plans to release Injustice: Gods Among Us Dice Building Game, which the publisher describes as "a new dice-building game based on the upcoming DC Comics video game". That's all the info available for now!
