Stretching and Prepping for Gen Con 2014

Stretching and Prepping for Gen Con 2014

I haven't posted anything here the past couple of days, but I have been updating BGG's Gen Con 2014 Preview, which now numbers 232 listings with more still to be added over the next nine days. The 2013 Preview hit only 205 listings, so either more games are being released; I'm including even more game demos and previews (although those were on last year's list, too); or I've trawled deeper and longer with the net to catch more offerings. Whatever the case, more titles.

As we did at Gen Con 2013, we'll be livestreaming game demos from the convention, with those videos later being parceled out onto the appropriate game pages. We'll post a schedule for those demos once we've completed our calendar. Most of the slots have been claimed, but not all as we're waiting to hear from a few publishers. Rest assured that we will likely end up with far more to broadcast than time allows. In addition to being in and out of the BGG booth, I'll be walking the floor with a cameraperson to record demos of games that didn't find a place in the schedule and to find out what I still missed. I also plan to play games due out at Spiel 2014 that are being demoed at the show. One way or another, I'll get better descriptions for those games!

I'm also at work on a game project that's not for BGG. Some details on August 5, 2014, along with background on the game(s) in question. I invite speculation, mostly because I'm curious to see what comes to mind when you hear the words "game project".
