Steamforged Games Acquires Euthia and Rivet Wars
In mid-June 2022, UK publisher Steamforged Games completed a crowdfunding project for RuneScape Kingdoms: Shadow of Elvarg with delivery scheduled for the end of 2023, but it's already adding two new worlds to its line-up.

Board Game: Euthia: Torment of Resurrection

At the end of June 2022, Steamforged Games signed a partnership with Czech publisher Diea Games to acquire the IP for Euthia: Torment of Resurrection, a design by Markéta Bláhová and Tadeáš Spousta.

In June 2020, Diea Games successfully ran a Kickstarter campaign for the first edition of the game, which the publisher describes as follows:
Quote:
Euthia: Torment of Resurrection is an open-world sandbox RPG strategy for 1-4 players that can be played competitively, cooperatively, or solo. Choose one of six heroes with different play styles and unique ability trees and embark on a wide range of epic, fantasy adventures through infinitely replayable scenarios. Wander through an expanding open world generated by modular map tiles that will be different every time you play. Discover areas where you can fight monsters, gather resources, trade with merchants, pursue side quests, and confront elemental powers. Your actions grant you reputation and wealth so you can develop your hero by unlocking new abilities and customizing your equipment.
In May 2022, Diea Games had cancelled a Gamefound crowdfunding campaign for a second edition of the game and expansions that had raised nearly €500,000 in two days because the project seemed unlikely to reach the publisher's target, despite having surpassed the listed financial goal: "Since we were aiming at a number of 6 000 backers to be able to safely produce the game with all addons and expansions, we know that there is no way we can beat this number now. On top of all, we don't want to jeopardise your money with an uncertain outcome of this project and that is the main reason why we will rather cancel it now than deal with a lot of trouble later."

Board Game: Euthia: Torment of Resurrection – Fierce Powers

Here's an excerpt from the press release announcing the deal:
Quote:
Tadeáš Spousta, Diea Games, said: "We thought it wouldn't be possible to bring Euthia back. Now, thanks to Steamforged, we have a route to do that. This partnership allows us to build Diea Games into a true development studio, which is something we've wanted since starting this journey, and to deliver the dream and experience of Euthia that we always planned.
Steamforged Games plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign for this second edition, the Fierce Powers expansion and "deluxe upgrades" on July 26, 2022, "with three straightforward pledge levels in place of the original seven", according to the press release. What's more, "Due to the nature of this project and the sheer scope of the game, all content from the Kickstarter campaign will be Kickstarter exclusive and won't go to general retail."

Board Game: Rivet Wars: Eastern Front

On July 12, 2022, Steamforged Games announced that it had acquired the IP to Rivet Wars, which bears this description:
Quote:
Rivet Wars is a miniatures board game that springs forth from the warped imagination of Ted Terranova and is set on a dieselpunk world that never quite left World War I, but with crazy technology like walking tanks, diesel powered armor, unicycled vehicles, and armor plated cavalry! Don't let the cute visuals fool you — it's a world full of angst, war-torn camaraderie and dark humor.

Rivet Wars is at its heart a strategy game, with both players deploying units each round to counter the threats set forth by their opponent and stay one tactical step ahead.
Rivet Wars debuted in 2014 from Terranova, co-designer Bill Podurgiel, and CMON Games, back when it was Cool Mini Or Not, with more than twenty expansions and add-ons being released at the same time.

In a press release announcing the deal, Terranova wrote, "I am elated that Rivet Wars has a new future with Steamforged Games. I'm an admirer of their creativity and ethos as well as their reliability, credibility and consistency within the industry. Rivet Wars was always a passion project, so it gives me huge satisfaction to know it's in safe hands. I can't wait to see where they take the game next."
