New Game Round-up: Psychiatric Parties, Goblins Meet Mad Max, Uncharted Goes Cardboard & Twister Twists Again

New Game Round-up: Psychiatric Parties, Goblins Meet Mad Max, Uncharted Goes Cardboard & Twister Twists Again
Board Game: Off Your Rocker
• Stratus Games has announced its next release, a party game called Off Your Rocker in which players take turns in the role of a psychiatrist while the other players act out some quirk with which they are all afflicted. From the publisher's description: "The psychiatrist attempts to guess the quirk by asking questions and looking for patterns in the patients' responses. A scoring system helps to encourage patients to improvise the quirk subtly to the psychiatrist, yet in an obvious way to the rest of the patients, which gives the feeling of an inside joke." Off Your Rocker launches on Kickstarter on April 6, 2012.

• Scott Tepper has posted on the Ascora Games blog that "after a long wait, the U.S. copies of Nefarious are just about here". He also posted a video rules explanation for those who want to avoid the text instructions available on the BGG game page.

• As noted on Yahoo! Games, Twister is being reborn as Twister Dance, with the familiar dotted playmat being replaced by movable colored dots that you place on the floor. The electronic device running the action includes songs by Ke$ha, Willow Smith, and Britney Spears, and you can use your own audio source in case you don't want to contort yourself to "Whip My Hair"... Board Game: Heap
• In addition to the second edition of Infernal Contraption, which is due out in June 2012 and for which the publisher has now uploaded a promotional video, Privateer Press has a second title coming in its "Bodgers Games" series of quick-playing, goblin-laden board and card games, that title being Heap. Here's a short description from the publisher:

Quote:
Each player plays a gang of crazed goblins that have traveled across the post-apocalyptic wasteland in broken-down vehicles to converge on a gigantic heap of long-discarded scrap – perfect ingredients for demented automotive modification. In arena-style bouts, each gang selects its champion driver to storm the heap and duke it out for the best parts to upgrade their vehicles. Be first to trick out your vehicles and dominate the final pileup to rule the heap!
And here's a vide overview should you care to know more:

Board Game: Edo
• While its Escape Kickstarter project still in progress, now with the first expansion free for backers, Queen Games has launched another KS project, this time for Stefan and Louis Malz' Edo. English rules are posted on the BGG page, and the game's release date is listed as July 2012, when previously the game was expected out in April.

• Tasty Minstrel Games has announced that reprints of Belfort and Martian Dice, along with the initial printing of For The Win, should arrive in May 2012.

Board Game: Village
Update, 12:44 PM: TMG has now posted news that it's importing Village – which German publisher eggertspiele released in late 2011 and is now in the process of printing again. TMG's Michael Mindes says production on the second printing should be finished in mid-April 2012, with the game reaching his U.S. warehouse in June.

• ICv2 has news and pics of Uncharted, a board game from Bandai that's based on a series of video games and due out in June 2012. From a description on Wikipedia: "The series follows modern-day treasure hunter Nathan 'Nate' Drake and his companions, Elena Fisher and Victor Sullivan, as they travel around the world to uncover various historical mysteries."
