Board Game: Hansa Teutonica
• German publisher Argentum Verlag has released basic information about its offerings at Spiel 2014 in October, starting with a new edition — a new printing, I believe, with no changes — of Andreas Steding's Hansa Teutonica in English, French and German versions. In addition, Argentum will have the Hansa Teutonica: Britannia expansion that has revised two-player rules and a new game board.

• In addition to those titles, Argentum will have a new 2-4 player game from Pagoda's Arve D. Fühler titled El Gaucho about which I know nothing right now.

• At San Diego Comic Con 2014, publisher IDW Games has announced a new release scheduled for March 2015: V-Wars, an adaptation of Jonathan Maberry's V-Wars by Rob Daviau, with Maberry aiding in the development of the game plot. Details about the game are scarce now, so let's start with a summary of the V-Wars setting, which was created by Maberry and fleshed out by other authors:

Quote:
V-Wars is set in a world transformed by a catastrophic environmental event that releases a millennium-old virus that, once triggered, affects individuals differently depending on their DNA. The result is vampires as unique as their cultures and a response from those unaffected humans like never seen before.
And now for the game description: "Following a storyline that will both pull from and add to the ongoing comic's universe, players in V-Wars will take up sides as either humans or vampires as they struggle for interspecies dominance. The game will be wrought with tension as players will never know exactly where they stand or who, if anyone, they can trust." In a press release announcing the game, a quote from Daviau suggests that the game design is still a work in progress:

Quote:
"I'm looking forward to working on the V-Wars game," said Rob Daviau. "It combines a lot of what I do and what interests me: combat, conflict, narrative, interesting choices, horror, and a fun world to play in. I hope to be able to bring all the feeling of the stories and comics into the game. It's still early but I can already see chances for a lot of subterfuge and shifting goals. Just because you start the game as a human, doesn't mean you'll end as one."
• Designer Tony Boydell notes that his Bad Grandmas, available as a print-and-play game through both BGG and Good Little Games, has been picked up by a publisher with the details of its release to come later.

IELLO is rolling out preview images of various power cards from Richard Garfield's King of New York, which will debut at Gen Con 2014 with a few hundred copies before hitting stores in September 2014. Purple Pawn got an exclusive preview card, Rodney Smith from "Watch It Played" got one, Tim Norris at GreyElephant Gaming got one, and BGG got one, too:
