New Game Round-up: Corruption Returns to Tammany Hall, Ogre as Big as Promised & Dice Head to Pasture

New Game Round-up: Corruption Returns to Tammany Hall, Ogre as Big as Promised & Dice Head to Pasture
Board Game: Tammany Hall
• Nathan McNair of Pandasaurus Games has announced that it will release a new edition of Doug Eckhart's Tammany Hall in 2012, with the game going the Kickstarter route at some point. Tammany Hall has appeared in two editions previously, both from StrataMax Games, but both in limited quantities. McNair has posted a love letter to Tammany Hall on the Pandasaurus website to explain why he's releasing the game again.

• Designer Steve Jackson has posted a status report on the sixth edition of Ogre, mentioning that the game currently contains eleven counter and overlay sheets (with more sheets possibly required) and will remain an "old-school" design: "The Ogre rules are still stripped-down, basic, my-turn, your-turn, move and shoot. It's not a War College sim. It moves fast and minimizes rules arguments."

(An earlier update from Jackson shows him posing with a mock-up box that weighs 14 pounds and could be worn as a complete outfit by a hobo with an aversion to barrels.)

• The Uncharted: Board Game now has a page on BGG, with the designer revealed to be Grimoire's Hayato Kisaragi and the release date May 2012. The game description is still minimal, however, so you'll have to imagine most of what's going on in the game. Here it is:

Quote:
Welcome to the world of Uncharted: Board Game! In this game, you take on the role of a treasure hunter and compete with other players to gain the most Victory Points. The variety of cards that you collect represent skills and items necessary for or sought after by treasure hunters. You can increase your chances of winning by adding useful cards to your play area. Venture into dangerous ruins, search them thoroughly, and defeat waves of enemies to become a legendary treasure hunter!
• And here is today's Kickstarter item: Garden Dice, the first title from Meridae Games, is a dice-rolling, tile-laying, set-collection design from Doug Bass with Josh Cappel doing the art. Players plant tiles in a shared vegetable garden based on die rolls, watering and harvesting them later while trying to keep opposing bunnies from lunching on them. The game features a "chaining" mechanism in which neighboring tiles are flipped and removed in tandem, depending on point values. (KS link)
