New Game Round-up: Another New Wonder, Zong Shi Hits Kickstarter & Rules Posted for Last Will
Board Game: 7 Wonders
• Repos Production and Kosmos have worked together to create a new wonder that will debut at Spiel 2011: 7 Wonders: Catan Island. From the Repos press release:

Quote:
When 7 Wonders won the Kennerspiel des Jahres, we felt like celebrating the event. Rendering homage to The Settlers of Catan seemed obvious to us. If there's a cornerstone in modern boardgaming, it's without a doubt Klaus Teuber's game.
This mini-expansion will be available at both the Repos booth (12-56) and the Kosmos booth (12-17) throughout Spiel 2011, with the cost of the expansion serving as a donation to Aktion Deutschland Hilft. I'm checking on the price and availability after Spiel 2011. My guesses for the abilities:

—"Once per turn, trade two identical resources created or bought this turn for one resource of any type."

—"Gain 7 money; each other player loses 2 money."

English rules for Vladimír Suchý's Last Will from Czech Games Edition are now available on BGG. (Update, Oct. 13: CGE has sent along a higher quality, smaller version of the rules with the proper bulletpoints in place. That file is now the only one in place on the Last Will page.)

• In addition to the previously announced release dates from Queen Games, Rajive Gupta has passed along anticipated U.S. release dates for three other titles:

German Railways - mid-November 2011
Castelli - early December 2011
Kairo - mid-December 2011

Aquarium co-designer Sander Vernyns has noted on BGG that Sandtimer will have at least 500 copies of the game on hand for its debut at Spiel 2011, but possibly no more than that due to production issues. Vernyns notes that the publisher will have at least 45 copies for sale each day so that the Sunday crowd will also get a shot at the game.

Board Game: Zong Shi
• Gryphon Games has launched a Kickstarter project for Kevin G. Nunn's Zong Shi, a design that was at Face 2 Face Games for a number of years before being picked up by Gryphon at the same time that it acquired the rights to F2F's Sid Sackson line-up. Here's an overview of the game:

Quote:
In a large town in medieval China, several talented artisans – Masters in their own right – aspire to become recognized as Zong Shi: the Grand Master craftsman. You are one of these master artisans and together with your apprentice, you are competing with the other Masters to attain this elevated status in the town. To succeed, you'll have to impress the townspeople with your skills. How shall you do it? Will you acquire a specialist's mastery over certain material, or will you enlarge your workshop? Will you create a large number of smaller projects or will you build fewer, but greater, masterworks? That is for you to decide.
For more details, read the complete description on the BGG game page, which includes a link to the English rules. The Zong Shi Kickstarter project runs through early December 2011.
