Studio H will debut with Tony Boydell's Alubari: A Nice Cup of Tea and Adrien and Axel Hesling's Oriflamme, both previously announced from Matagot. Titles from Studio H will be distributed by Gigamic, which Hachette Livre purchased in early 2019.
• Believe it or not, Hachette Livre also has another new game studio — Funnyfox — with this brand debuting with French editions of Ceylon in September 2019 and Whoosh: Bounty Hunters in October 2019. As with Studio H, titles from Funnyfox will be distributed by Gigamic.
• In news that's semi-related to the first item, Australian publisher Grail Games has formed a "partnership" with publisher/distributor Surfin' Meeple that "is focused on facilitating manufacturing and distribution services with the goal of introducing Grail Games classics to more homes around the world", according to Surfin' Meeple's Rachel Becker-Raffenne. (I say "semi-related" because Surfin' Meeple is run by Arnaud Charpentier, who bought out Hicham Ayoub Bedran's share of Matagot in early 2019.)
The announcement of this partnership will be formally announced at SPIEL '19, with future releases beyond Tom Lehmann's Chu Han likely being public afterward.
• Tony Gullotti, formerly with Arcane Wonders, has been hired by Czech Games Edition to market its titles in the U.S.
• Renegade Game Studios has hired Desiree Love, formerly with The Broken Token, as a full-time video production manager.
