Hi, everyone,

In late May and early June, Chad Krizan and I had the opportunity to attend the 2012 Origins Game Fair and meet with many publishers. Below you will find the videos from our first day at Origins (Friday), with the videos listed in alphabetical order. There were many cool things we got to see and do this first day, including:

-----• Interviewing Richard Borg several times. He is very funny and great to be around. It was awesome to check out all of his new projects.
-----• Speaking with Jeremiah Lee from Cambridge Games Factory, who was also great. He had Glory to Rome with him as well as a cool rummy-type game I need to try with my wife called Plato 3000. (Editor's note: On June 7, 2012, CGF's Ed Carter announced that Lee was leaving the company to take a similar role as public relations manager and convention organizer for Indie Boards and Cards. —WEM)
-----FlowerFall by Asmadi Games had to be one of the funniest things at the show. In the game you are dropping flower cards on to the table to try to score points. FlowerFall looks like a great little filler, and it would be great to see a wider print by Asmadi.
-----Morels by Two Lanterns Games was one of the most interesting games I saw at the convention. In the game you gather, then cook mushrooms through a sort of open draft mechanism. It's a great two-player game and seems on par with the Kosmos two-player line.
-----Samurai Battles really stole the show for me. The game is amazing to look at, and it was awesome to be able to chat with the designers Konstantin Krivenko and Richard Borg. Samurai Battles is not a small purchase but a really awesome addition to any collection based on toy factor alone. I am fairly close to finishing assembly of my copy (a five-hour affair).

These are just some of the highlights, with all the videos below showing much more of what we saw that day. Watch for a report on day two Tuesday, June 12th!
