Batalla a les illes Formigues (Battle in the Formigues Islands) is a small and simple postcard game published as a freebie by SNAFU Design. It’s a 2-player game recreating three Middle-Ages naval battles that took place during the Crusade against the Crown of Aragon in 1285: 1st battle of Formigues Islands, 2nd battle of Formigues Islands, and Battle of Roses
One player controls the Catalan fleet, the other one, the Franco-Genovese fleet. Players alternate activations of one of their own squadrons (1 squadron = 1 counter), organized in one or more flotillas. In each activation a squadron can do just one action: move, veer or fight. When a flotilla has lost more than half its original strength it must begin a retreat movement and the game ends when a player has not any units on the map; then, VPs are tallied.
