Mentioned on the game board is a Francis Birtle, a colourful adventurer who set cycling and driving records from the 1900's to the 1920's. The game board reference is probably a 1912 epic journey from the Gulf of Carpentaria in remote northern Australia back to Melbourne.
The game board also gives reference to a Harold Parsons who held world motorcycle endurance records between 1916 and 1920
