The decisive phase of the naval war in the Mediterranean

"1942: Battle for the Mediterranean" is a two-player wargame simulation of the naval operations in the Mediterranean in January-October 1942. The objective in the game is to sink the largest possible number of enemy warships and enemy shipping, and to keep supplied their respective ground forces and bases in North Africa (for the Axis) and Malta (for the Allies).
Combat units represent individual capital ships (battleships, battlecruisers, heavy cruisers, light cruisers, fleet carriers, light carriers), destroyer or smaller escort divisions of 2-3 ships, individual submarines, groups of merchant ships and escorts vessels, and aircraft squadrons of 20-25 planes.
Each game turn represents 1 month of naval operations. The campaign game covers 10 game turns, from January to October 1942. There are also shorter 1-turn scenarios simulating the major convoy battles of the 1942 campaign: Second Sirte, Harpoon/Vigorous (Battaglia di Mezzo Giugno), or Pedestal (Battaglia di Mezzo Agosto).
